About our Network
The Parish & Town Councils’ Network is a new peer network for people working in and alongside parish and town councils.
The network is open to councillors, officers and other sector stakeholders who want to connect with others across the parish and town council sector, share experience, and learn from peers facing similar challenges.
Parish and town councils are the most local tier of government and play a vital role in their communities. Yet those serving within them often work in isolation, with limited opportunities to connect informally with others beyond their own council or immediate area. The Network exists to help change that!
Our Purpose
The Network has been created to:
- bring people together across councils, roles and locations
- create space for open, practical discussion about real‑world issues
- support learning through shared experience rather than formal training
- encourage confidence, collaboration and good practice across the sector
It is designed to complement, not duplicate, existing support from county associations, national bodies and professional organisations.
Our Offer
The Parish & Town Councils’ Network provides a light‑touch, peer‑led environment where participants can:
- connect with others working in similar roles
- explore governance, leadership and practice in a practical context
- share challenges, ideas and lessons learned
- contribute to sector conversations in an open and supportive way
There is no single model of participation. Members are welcome to engage as much or as little as suits their role, capacity and interests.
Who is the Network for?
The Network is open to anyone with an interest in the parish and town council sector, including:
- parish and town councillors
- clerks and other council officers
- those working for organisations and businesses serving councils
If your role means you touch the town and parish council sector, you are more than welcome to join!
